Hilton Head, South Carolina has a rich cultural heritage. Its language is part slave, native and Elizabethian English. Hilton Head offers diverse music attractions such as the Hilton Head Orchestra, the Jazz Corner, Gene Murrell, Deas-Guyz and Chamber Music Hilton Head.

 

Hilton Head’s society has a prolific influence over the arts. Artwork may be viewed at both galleries and museums. The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina exhibits visual and performing arts. The Smith Galleries showcases contemporary American fine art and crafts. The Pinkhouse Gallery exhibits art and framing from both native and national artists. Art lovers must also visit the Coastal Discovery Museum and the Hilton Head Art League. The South Carolina Repertory Company performs comedies and dramas.

 

Those who choose to venture of the wild side must experience the thrill of H2O Sports. Parasailing, waterskiing, and wave runners are its specialties. Tourists may also experience dolphin excursions while aboard the Pau Hana and Flying Circus catamaran sailboats. Skull Creek Marina is toured by the Whipple Charter Boat. Delight in kayaking with Kayak Hilton Head and Cool Breeze Kayaking. With Kayak Hilton Head, dolphins play in the waters at Broad Creek. Cool breeze kayaking adventures into Hilton Head’s salt marsh creeks while sightseers witness up-close encounters with dolphins, otters, minks, osprey and woodstorks.

 

In-shore and off-shore fishing is available through Bonanza Sportsfishing. Captain Hook Party Fishing Boat takes fishing to the extremes with deep sea and shark fishing.

The Commander Zodiac delves into tidal marshes. Youth and children explore Island Rec Center and Gregg Russell’s Harbour Town and Bubble Gum Club. Russell founded Hilton Head Heroes and Lids for Kids. Children with life threatening diseases receive family vacations. Those undergoing chemotherapy receive hats. Russell has performed with George Burns, The Beach Boys and Stephen Curtis Chapman. Children also enjoy cruises on the Drifter and Gypsy Excursions.

 

Tennis and racquetball opportunities reside at Van Der Meer Tennis, Hilton Head Golf and Raquet Club, and Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center. Along the beautiful beaches lays an abundance of housing opportunities, including the Hilton Head Resort with cabanas, hot tubs and a playground for the kiddos.
